WSJ and NBC conducted a poll and believe Trump is facing an uphill battle.

Quote:
WASHINGTON — A year and a half before the 2020 presidential election, President Donald Trump faces formidable obstacles in his bid for re-election, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Just four in 10 voters say they would re-elect him next year; 58 percent don’t think he’s been honest and truthful regarding the Russia probe; and 60 percent disapprove of his recent national emergency declaration to build a border wall.
Not looking good for Mr. Trump.

They actually didn't talk to voters at all.

900 Adults, including 405 with cell phone only and 22 respondents who also have a landline.

20% of the respondents were not even registered voters.

If the Democrats can't come up with a reasonable candidate that isn't so far to the left, there will be no formidable obstacle to his election in 2020....except for Trump himself.

The most telling polls in 2016 were the ones about shy voters, who asked "Are you planning to vote for Trump?". Then they asked "Is your neighbor planning to vote for Trump?". Trump saw roughly a 15% swing across all demographics. Being a Trump supporter is the new 'in-the-closet'.

But how many of every 10 surveyed will vote at all? And how many will vote for a Democrat?
Mindless poll.

That's about the size of it. He's may not be very popular, but the left has fallen off the page. So far, it looks as if their vote will be split several ways.

The reality is, Republicans won almost every Senate seat that Trump held rallies for in 2018 midterms.
Of the places he held rallies, they lost in New Jersey and one other, that is all.
And Trump only held rallies for ONE governorship, and it was in Kentucky, and it was successful.
Trump holds rallies, and wins.
Also in 2018, Republicans won Florida Senate and Governorship.....not a good sign for Democrats.

This poll shows Trump with a 46% approval rating. For reference, Obama was at 45% for February of 2011. Now factor in the 'in-the-closet' Trump voters. Trump's in great shape & should easily win re-election in 2020.

Lightbulb WSJ: Trump is in trouble going into 2020

Lots can and will happen to influence the 2020 election over the next 20 months.

Predictions at this point are pretty much meaningless, even though tRump's looking weak right now.

Stay tuned for entertaining developments.
