When you believe that Democrat = Demonic and the party is full of baby killers and sexual deviants who hate America and hate Christians, nothing that the Republicans can do is worse than that.
I'm proud to say I'm an Independent and some Democrats are reprehensible like that but some Republicans are also awful for other reasons too (mocking the less fortunate, having contempt towards young people, idolatry towards guns over human lives, etc.). I like to be able to evaluate each candidate's character to the best of my ability without getting obsessed over whether there's an (R), (D), or less commonly an (I) or another abbreviation by someone's name on the ballot.
But to the broader question brought up by the OP (and this could be about other issues beyond Trump), I think that some people believe very unbelievable lies from someone because they get so far into it that backing up becomes almost painful and they're insecure about looking weak about realizing they misjudged something, but then they end up looking worse by continuing to go along. That doesn't make it right but that's what might happen.
because he's not doing liberal/democrat lies....LOL...and he's funny as sh1t
(they all lie)
Trump set the bar for lies so low, it was never this low. He lies for petty insignificant reasons or for no reason. Few people lie like that and many of those see a psychiatrist.
Any liberal talking about lies should look in the mirror. Everything from the dirty dossier to Russian collusion to the Mueller report to their sham of an impeachment was based on lies.
The Dems have lied so much and so often that they and their media comrades actually believe their own bullcrap and feed it by the ton to their simple minded constituents.
and by scientists, you mean Democrats with liberal arts degrees
