It is understood that executive orders can be changed by the
following president but the message presented by President Trump is quite clear.
Free speech is an American right not a designated right as some institutions have confined
speech to compartmentalized areas on campus grounds as a way to keep their leftist indoctrination of the
students in place. A conservative is cold cocked right in the face for speaking his mind. The video shoes the altercation.
The suspect has been arrested and deservingly so.

In the words of Thomas Jefferson: All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for the people of good conscience to remain silent.
Thankyou President Donald Trump.............

What is your opinion ?
Curious minds would like to know.

The President calling to investigate comedy shows being concerned about Free Speech.

You really believe Trump thinks that free speech is at risk.

He's playing to the conservatives who want more conservative speakers on campus.

A school/business/venue should be able to cancel an event if there is concern for safety.

It doesn't matter who the speaker is.

The point is that it DOES matter who the speaker is. Only far left idiots are exempt

My thoughts are this: while I am unequivocally supportive of free speech, the two people engaged in this contretemps were not on campus at the university’s invitation. A fist fight between two private citizens who loathe each other is neither appropriate nor sufficient justification for the president to make such a threat against universities receiving federal research funds.

Somewhat agree with you but simply can not understand why any group would think they have the right to violence or any university Pres should be allowed to dis-invite someone to speak. Anyone who compares this to late night comedy is not thinking the situation throw. There is a huge difference between a TV host calling our president names and a group of jerks attacking free speech on a college campus.

The problem is it does matter who the speaker is. It only happens to conservative speakers routinely.

The left follows the playbook to downplay, deny, and lie on this subject just as routinely.

It is really ridiculous in that in America on a college campus no less that Free speech would be prevented and the President needs to get involved to make it possible.

What is wrong with this country?
College campuses used to be places where all opinions could be freely explored and talked about and debated but we have seen so many times in the last 2 years at certain campuses where Conservative speakers were forced to cancel their speeches by the "tolerant" Left wing students.

Are the young adults in this country that brain washed by the Left to actually fear hearing a Right wing perspective that they need to shut it down with violence and threats? That is what we have seen.

It is ridiculous that an executive order needs to be written to remind people that we all have a Right to free speech but ome on the Left have become so sensitive to words that even a glimpse of a MAGA hat sends them into a rage and it is seen as not Free Speech but yelling "FIRE" in a crowded theater.

To what specific incident are you referring?

Why did you bring up late-night comedy? I wrote nothing about comedy shows in my post and have no idea to what that refers. If you mean to engage someone else’s comment, please quote the post to make your intent clear.

No, that's wrong. We need to provide safety to people who are being attacked. If the left doesn't like a speaker they ensure that safety will be a concern, that's their plan. We cannot allow rabid leftist to shut down events based on safety concerns that they create for the sole purpose of shutting down the event.
