It must suck for anti-Trumpers when he succeeds in a deal with China...

You are attacking the people who told you so by claiming they wanted the economy to tank. Did you want it to when Obama was at this point in his first term? If so, stop typing.

I guess it depends on your definition of "success". If it is words, projections, boasts and other BS....with the "results" like we have now (increased trade deficits, lagging stock market, no change for the low wage workers here, etc.)....then who cares?

As with any "deal" some will win and some will lose.

The biggest effect on the average American has been the stock market going nowhere because of all the Trump chaos. If he would get out of the way then I would call that success.

A "deal" which moves a needle a couple percent one way or the other and that all the corporations can work around anyway isn't really relevant to most of us.

I agree with you.

But the problem is that the corporates do not want to pay higher wages. It means that the company has to pay out more money which mean less corporate bonuses or less dividend payouts for themselves.

It really comes down to businesses wanting cheap labor as possible. So they push policies like open borders for illegal aliens and even "free trade" with predatory mercantilist nations even though its hurts the majority of people. Just as long as their corporate stock goes up.

we are seeing it everywhere.

the cost of tariffs are being passed directly to consumers.

Chinese vendors are NOT reducing prices nor are US retailers , instead we are seeing price increases on tariffed goods.

dude what are you talking about?

there is no reason to believe Trump has had any success at all. In fact the opposite is true. Chinese exporters seem to be finding they are able to expand into other market much better than was predicted.
Nobody in the investment world is expecting anything more than a face saving exit for Trump and hoping there is no disaster.

I say it again.

Obama created TPP precisely to be used as a tool that would exclude China. 12 of China's largest trading partners working under a single treaty that could FORCE China to the table and force China to make long term meaningful changes...

instead we got baby Trump isolating the USA !!! and then starting a trade war with China..

What a damn jerk. it could have been US and 11 allies vs china.... now it is US NO allies vs China...

dumb dumb dumb.. trump is so dumb it makes my head spin.

You and me both!! His famous negotiating skills are a fiction of his own mind, we surely
haven't seen any evidence of this master skill of his.
