This is hardly a surprise that Trump will not cooperate or comply with these politically contrived, completely unhinged partisan hatched job investigations being instigated by Congressional Democrats. After all, Obama spent his final six years in office refusing to comply with Congressional oversight probes into Benghazi, Fast and Furious, the IRS harassment of conservative groups, Hillary Clinton related investigations, including Uranium One and of course her improper handling of classified information, and others.

Quote:
Trump signals White House won't comply with Democratic probes

President Trump on Tuesday signaled the White House will not comply with a barrage of congressional investigations, accusing Democrats in the House of launching the probes to hurt his chances of winning reelection in 2020.

Trump suggested he was unwilling to comply with the House Judiciary Committee’s requests for documents related to 81 of his associates, citing what he said was former President Obama’s handling of congressional probes during his time in office.

“They didn't give one letter. They didn't do anything. They didn't give one letter of the requests,” he said. The president’s remarks suggest the White House could invoke executive privilege or take other measures to shield internal documents or discussions from Democratic-led panels investigating Trump’s administration, campaign and businesses.
So the precedent was set by Barack Obama himself and now Trump is directly stating that he will follow that particular precedent, for that particular reason. Obama refused to comply with congressional probes and therefore Trump will not either. What is good for the goose, is good for the gander, right?

I don't know exactly what Obama did, but if Trump can legally claim executive privilege or something, then so be it, it is his prerogative.

But that being said, it might not be politic of him to do so. He needs to weigh the damage to his reputation against other interests. He is widely viewed as being dirty. He can dispel that by being forthcoming with documents, etc.

Not all of the 81 requests were to the executive branch.

I dont know either. Pulling the "but Obama" is standard reply from Trump. The only problem is that when you criticize someone for doing something, and then do it yourself, you are a hypocrite.

Dems campaign slogan for 2020- “orange man bad”. The shenanigans are tiresome. Get a new gig dems. Figure out some decent policy or something productive already. And tell your msm to drop the divisive identity politics too.

i'm curious to know exactly what request trump is referring to, what was obama's reason for denying the request, was he in his legal rights to do so and was it actually a precedent.

Orange man is bad. His shenanigans are tiresome. Get a new gig, Republicans. Surely there must be a few decent Republicans from whom you can select a viable and better candidate for 2020.

Trump can’t help but to look guilty. He’s been a naughty boy and wants everyone to know.

Trump is going to tell Nadler and Schiff and the gang to eat it every chance he gets. He is going to rub their faces in it in very public fashion. Watch and see.
