A 14 year old girl should be clothes shopping at the mall, playing soccer, studying for college. The parents robbed this girl of any type of independent life. She was happy because that’s all she knew. Turning her over to some horny old man dosen’t make it right. Those people should be ashamed.

I still do not understand who finds pedophilia acceptable as the OP states.
However it is interesting to note that there is a weird internet scheme to falsely associate pedophiles with the LGBTQ community. People should be aware of the trolling tactics that have resurfaced yet again, recently.
The LGBTQ+ community has long been maliciously associated with pedophiles by people who wish to further stigmatize them. Internet trolls are aware of this violent tradition, and are taking advantage by spreading propaganda that, on first glance, resembles an embrace of pedophiles by LGBTQ+ people.
It’s a not-so-subtle reminder that people often invoke the safety of children when trying to legislate against the LGBTQ+ community. Despicable.
Not saying this is what is happening here, on this forum, but the issue came to mind and seems an appropriate time to warn discerning readers and members that there is a recurrence of trolling on the internet to use the horribly tragic circumstances of child victims as a false and ugly means to denigrate and demean and wrongly accuse and oppress the LGBTQ community.

Sane people understand all that...that crazy nonsense gets an eyeroll and ignored.
What doesn't get ignored is that people, even here, sympathize and try to justify being with minors. Shudder.

Not necessarily(assuming by "we are all" you meant outside of you family tree), I know the age of all the females in 4 branches of my lines and the youngest marriage was Prisciilla Barnes and John Alden Plymouth Rock). She was 19 when she married a 21 year old back in 1621. That is the youngest known marriage in 4 different lines going back to the 1600s, so about 13 generations.

Sure. But it's no longer acceptable, nor should it be. Young girls should have the same opportunities that young boys have to pursue an education, finish high school and go on to college.
An adult having a relationship with a 13 yr old may not fit the definition of pedophilia, but it's still illegal and wrong. Try that and you will be in the Sex Offender Registry for life, as you should be.
There is good reason for this, because of the mental maturity level and power differences between an adult and minor. I believe there are also laws that there can't be any sexual contact between minors or more than 3 or 4 years age difference, for the same reasons.
I'm not following the "normalization or pedophilia" part of this thread, but that's my opinion on the topic.

That’s an unfortunate part of history. These days, it shouldn’t be acceptable in any part of the country. Young girls have the right to be educated, have careers and independence, and not be the bed partner of some horny old man. I cringe at the FLDS girls who are still being married to men old enough to be their grandfathers. Hopefully this will end, and the sooner the better.
In terms of Epstein and the trump clinton Lolita Express men s Club....it isn't pedophilia....which is " relationships" involving sex..the Epstein group et al are of the " just sex for perversion and power " tie them up, rape them, these young girls can't stop them or do anything about it.
Kinda how Trumps raping 80% of the country. So far, we can't do anything about him. But Congress is fighting back.Give him some bruises. And scratch marks.
