Maybe Trump put the screws to Ellis to give Manafort a very light sentence vs having to pull out the pardon power himself...
By the time pardons come around on Trump's last day in office, Manafort will be out.

Plus ten next week, and he won't draw a racist judge. Then there is the little matter of the ten charges that resulted in a hung jury with one holdout. Mueller was going to forget about those, but I have a sneaking feeling he's going to grease the skids on the wagon and take them for another spin.
Then comes New York State, and by that time Mueller should have unsealed a few more indictments with his name on them, this time for his connection to the Trump campaign/Russia investigation.
Manafort will never draw another free breath. BTW - what is the bag limit on witches currently? They're flying fast and furious these days, and Mueller is catching them right and left.

At the bottom end, Mueller is currently right at $4 million in the black, and it could be as much as $25 million. It all depends on how many of Manafort's assets they can find.
It would be a goog thing for America to hire a few more like Bob Mueller. We could wipe out the National Debt if this ongoing crime spree holds out.
The judge should be in jail. No wonder Trump laughs at the Justice Department and intelligence agencies. Trump KNOWS where rich scofflaws and crooks like himself are concerned, the courts (and Congress) will be intentionally toothless.
I wanna know - can I fail to report tens of millions in income and get a 4-year sentence? How about witness tampering? What's my sentence for that?

It's quite clear from all the expectation management coming out that Mueller has diddly-squat on the Donald.
And all the liberal whining at the lenient and very sensible sentencing of Manafort is simply a joy to watch.
It reminds me of the crestfallen and tearful faces on the CNN political "experts " as the blood drained away as quick as Clinton's chances of becoming POTUS on Election Night.

And this is apparently the crescendo, climax moment of the entire Mueller investigation. Less than four years, and in the end he will do less than that.
Also, still no evidence to support the Democrat left conspiracy theory about Donald Trump conspiring with the Russians to steal the 2016 election from Hillary Clinton.

A big fat zero.
Zilch.
Not even a sniff.
And all that effort and money wasted.
The Democrats will also waste the next two years trying to discredit Trump instead of being REALLY smart and coming up with a good,alternative,young,untainted,dynamic opponent.
