But many Mexicans come here and yet do not consider themselves Americans and are not loyal to this country. Several California schools have barred students from wearing American flag clothes because Mexican students were offended and they didn't want violence to occur. Mexicans are offended by the American flag the way some misinformed and brainwashed blacks are offended by the Confederate flag.
It's the concept of 'bringing us all together.' Uniting us through our common identity as Americans. Obviously, that has no cred anymore. What a sad state of affairs.
A pledge does nothing to bring anyone together, amazing how you think reciting some words does that, by force at that. For my 12 years in the military, not one time ever said the Pledge, I did not even do it since grade school. But gee golly, according to you that means I do not identify as an American.
If you need a Pledge to recite to make yourself feel American, but all means, go ahead.

Why am I not surprised?
You make zero sense, how in the hell am I wrong? I stated the Bellemy salute is based off the Roman salute, and has nothing to do with the Nazis nor Hitler. How is that wrong?

Of course you are confused because you don't pay close attention to what you respond to or what I posted.

Yes Hitler indoctrinees performed the exact same salute. That's all I stated and you ran off ASSUMING that I stated something else.
The US changed the salute to the hand over the heart because of Hitler's indoctrinees performing the same exact salute.

LOL and the Mexican citizens also waved their flags here in CA. CA is the poster child for incompetent government...but hey that's a different topic.
So this is where we are at today in this country. All it takes is a student to say a teacher did something and without any proof whatsoever they are fired. We are circling the drain as a society. We can't last much longer going in this direction.
oh bull once again another die hard Trump type twisting the story to suit their needs.
Where do you get the idea that there is no proof dbones? hmm WHERE?
It was obviously in front of the whole class because it does not say otherwise. Nor does it say the sub protested or was fighting it. The kid got permission to leave the class and got help.
ORS 339.875 Procurement, display and salute of flags.
(kids are not required to take pledge and it is a violation of state law to attempt to force any kid to stand or repeat the pledge, they must remain quiet and respectful only.)
the LAW goes back to the 1940s... Dbones... so deal with it. Oregon was purple until the last 20 or 30 years... never hard blue never hard red....
I always saw the Pledge of Alliance as the official "Start" of school and a way for teachers to get a quick handle on the rambunctious kids starting their day.
By high school I don't remember doing it at all., don't remember doing it in Middle school. Actually, I remember not having to do it at school for military brats in Germany 1980's (giving my age here). I only remember doing it in Flagstaff at a on base school.

blah blah blah, the KID was born in the US, he is an american kid.
And stop your bs ref confederate flag, that flag is nothing but a symbol of racism
I spent a good bit of my life in the south, where we lived, the confederate flag was flown by uneducated whites , the ones looking for handouts, the ones who ended up "staying".
It serves the purpose of getting the kid's attention to start the school day and it has never hurt anyone except the errant America hating liberal.
And not saying it hurts no one except for the whiny cons.

Do you have anything to contribute to the actual topic at hand?
Hey Genius,
Said salute came from the Roman Empire and probably places before that. The so-called Bellamy salute predates the creation of National Socialism in Germany and Austria and was dropped when they started using it.
Good grief....
Hey poor reading skills Genius, work on your reading comprehension. You are responding to something I never stated.

I'd rather be whiny than some d-bag ingrate.
