You can either make a convincing case for your grievance that will be taken seriously, or you can talk about "whitesplaining". You can't do both.

But it looks bad for a cop to ignore the law especially if they choose to record it on video. A lot of them will think it's not worth the headaches if it was illegal without probable cause. Plus if they make an arrest for someone not showing their ID, and had no probable cause, if it was illegal, then the defendant gets off then, so a cop might not even bother in that case then. So make it illegal?

Then of course they just make up some "reason to believe there is probable cause". A right that a cop won't respect is no right at all.

I am on another forum with a cop who says he can always find "probable cause".

It goes both ways. I worked in a factory with blacks and whites. Many of both were racist toward the other. I am white, my best friend at the time was black. If we went somewhere together, we got called names from both sides.

Well what would the probable cause be in this case of someone picking up trash outside their apartment building?

The dates on threads often (or at least it seems as though it is often) get 'booted up' and don't reflect when the posts were actually made. I didn't start the thread recently, even though that is what the system is indicating.

Additionally, it appears that two threads were merged.
