Quote:
The study followed 500 Vermont couples, including gay, lesbian, and heterosexual relationships, over the course of 12 years from 2002 to 2014, and learned that homosexual men are the least likely to break up among the group. Interestingly enough, lesbian couples were twice as likely to call it quits and one-and-a-half as likely as heterosexual pairs. When it came to looking at all couple types, each year of a relationship length reduced the odds of breaking up by 9%.

Destroy the sanctity of marriage? Looks to me like we (married gay dudes) are saving it.

Women instigate about 80 percent of divorces—many after years of feeling unheard or having their concerns minimized.

Since women instigate 80% of divorces, wouldn't cutting out women from marriage significantly cut down on divorces and thus further protect the sanctity of marriage?
Just food for thought.

That's probably because they have lower marriage rates.
Lower marriage rates = lower divorce rates.

Are hetero couples more likely to have children? It seems children can create tons of stress in a relationship that gay couples may be less likely to face (the pregnancy, loss of freedom, money issues, changes in behavior that otherwise wouldn’t be required, child support...issues with exes, less one-on-one time, etc).

Agreed. My husband and I haven't really fought ever since we got together 6 years ago. We resolve our differences through discussion and logic.

My wife and I have been together 20 years. So our odds of breaking up have been reduced 180%! If you're bad at calculus anyway
