Chances that this OP in college, high-school or middle school, ever said something to the effect of "why are we learning this, I'll never do this in real life" about learning to analyze a text

Well, maybe you will never do it in real life
That doesn't mean you shouldn't have learned how

Everyone driving a white car is a racist. I thought that would have been as obvious as everyone who eats white bread being racists.

I think you’re referring to the AI that Facebook was working on?

They were working on an AI that can do business negotiations. The AI eventually developed its own language to communicate more efficiently and get test deals done faster. Facebook shut it down not because of racism or other imbellished news reports saying that the AI was plotting against us but rather because there was no point in them developing their own language if we couldn’t understand it and reply back.

Edit: here is a quote from some of the text the two AI’s came up with during the experiment.

Default Suppose the USDOJ decided last minute to say "no" to a big media merger. Can they legally do that?

Suppose the USDOJ decided last minute to say "no" to a big media merger. Can they legally do that? Specifically, I am talking about the Disney-Fox merger! If they can do that, now is the time! Disney is too big!

Seems the technology still has some bugs. What a shocker.
Seemed like common sense to me, but you know conservatives gotta find a way to make something out of nothing.

That having been said, computers only do what humans program them to do. It's all code written by humans and if the code was designed and tested using light humans, that is not necessarily racist. If the intent was to design it that way based upon preserving an idea of the supremacy of whites, then that would be racist.
Exactly. Straw man it is only people who go out of their way to down play that racism exists are the racists themselves. Just exposing themselves, and don't even know it.

It was derailed from the moment the OP posted it

The title of the thread is the exact opposite of what the article the OP posted is about.

Maybe in another 22 years she'll be mature enough to read the entire article before posting, or at least admit when shes caught.

People with Dark Skin at Higher Risk of Being Hit by Self-Driving Cars, Study Finds

'AI has a problem. Apparently, it's racist. Specifically, self-driving cars are racist because people of color have a greater chance of being run over by one than white people do, according to a new study published by the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The study concludes that the existing recognition technology used in self-driving cars has a harder time recognizing humans the darker their skin is.

It’s easy to start fretting about the coming robo-takeover and all its attendant Terminator and I, Robot-esque predictions about how artificial intelligence is coming for humanity. But for the moment, the real concerns about new technology aren’t so different from the old concerns: systemic bias against people of color.'

The visual contrast might be an element in these controlled test conditions (nighttime test) but I think in the real world its because they keep crossing in the middle of the block instead of at crosswalks. I can't even tell you how many times these immigrants have tried to kill themselves in front of my car.

In their countries, there isn't any discipline for traffic management, and its all chaotic. That doesn't work here...you cannot just pedal your bicycle slowly into a four lane expressway like you were in Mumbai or Beijing or wherever, where apparently that's the kind of craziness that drivers expect. Like what I just saw last week in Fremont, CA.

Here, nobody expects people to behave like suicidal idiots. So voila.....higher rates of getting hit by cars.
