Van Jones had better be careful, or he'll have to endure the wrath of liberals. This is the second time in just the last few weeks that he "credited" conservatives with something.
This is extremely disappointing to me. I first became a Republican in 1990 because I heard a Dem on TV say that Republicans want to build more prisons than schools. It was meant as an insult but it backfired on me because I hate criminals and want them all locked up behind bars. In the 90s I became even more passionate for the Republicans when Texas Governor George W Bush executed a record number of killers.
So now it's very depressing to me that Republicans have become a criminal loving party. The only criminals Republicans seem to have a problem with nowadays are illegals.

To lock up people with petty drug offenses for long sentences is ridiculous. It turns them into a career criminal because when they get out its almost impossible to get a job. Its also very expensive. And if we are talking Marijuana just legalize it federally.
I also hate criminals but you have to define a criminal. Bad violent people that are a danger to society need to be behind bars. But people with an addiction issue need to be treated as such when their only crime is possession of that substance.
