Should this suit be successful, it will set precedence leaving Fox News open to a world of hurt!
They all will have to be more careful which would not be a bad thing. With that being the case it leaves open the big possibility of a settlement so there isn't a court precedent.
No, but it does lessen the severity of the whole case in general, had someone showed up at his house or confronted them in public somewhere, this would be a much different ball game...Im just saying that judges and courts take these kinds of things into consideration, since the threats were 'all talk, no bite', I dont think the court will find them that significant.
I believe he will be able to make a case for harm but the threats will play very little into it. Maybe a bit. Everyone that get in the news gets them from goof balls sitting in a basement somewhere. He may be able to make the case that it's not an everyday thing for him but I doubt it ever gets that far.
Well, there are dozens of cases in relation to this one and what is going to get interesting is the discovery to see if there was indeed internal bias.
If they do find such evidence and really want to make CNN swing, they can settle with the others and then refuse to settle with CNN and take it all the way to the gory end which would prevent a cover-up.
Yeah but if they do discover some very damaging stuff in discovery, CNN will wave a lot of money at the family. Who is going to turn down 8, possibly 9 figures just to prove a point (and possibly end up with nil)?
Jeff, don't engage. Just put them on ignore. You're facilitating an attempt to try to divert the discussion.
We have a number of posters here both left and right that are absolutely incapable of reasoned thought and discussion on a political topic. You'd have better luck talking about Israel with members of ISIS and some ultraorthodox jews.
thanks for the advice...……..I guess i'm just stubborn that way...…..I never use ignore...…….

probably won't happen. but would like to see it go to the supreme court. I believe in free press. but not to the point where it harms innocent people...…….

Always a possibility, certainly we can agree that would alone be their decision and I'm not going to guess.
One thing to note, there are a lot of other suits, so that would diversify that risk as they're not just suing CNN.
This attorney has handled a lot of high profile cases .

A lawyer representing Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann said in a new Fox News interview that Sandmann plans to sue CNN for at least $250 million.
L. Lin Wood, the attorney, said in an interview with Fox News host Mark Levin airing Sunday that they will file the suit early next week, on Monday or Tuesday.
Everybody knows not to believe a word of Faux news. The real FAKE NEWS.
