I know, I know, I know....no need for concern.....

I'll just throw some figures and stuff out here for discussion....

Roughly one half of today's younger generation would opt for socialism over capitalism. Yeah, I know...as they grow older their political tastes change. We'll see. In the environment we are in today, I don't think they are going to change like they used to.

Some definitions/labels

Generation X....in between baby boomers and millennials
Generation Z...the youngest that are able to vote
Millenials.....early 80's and early 2000's DOB

Gen Z and millennials are projected to make up 37% of the electorate in 2020, and what they're looking for in a presidential candidate is shifting.

The top three voting issues for Gen Z, according to the Harris poll, are mass shootings, racial equality, and immigration policy and treatment of immigrants.
Millennials' top issues are access to health care, global warming/climate change and mass shootings.
Gen X's top issues are: access to health care, terrorism/national security and the national debt — the same top issues for boomers and older.

Add into the mix the new breed of freshman politicians who as of now, have literally taken over the political spotlight. Flash in the pan? I don't think so.

Add into the mix the unwavering opposition to even slowing down illegal immigrants into the country. Not only do they do they not want to slow them down, they want more to come in and establish sanctuary cities to protect them. They are pushing hard for them to have voting rights. How do you think they will vote?

Add into the mix, not only the acceptance of more muslims into the political system but the protection of them when they say radical statements.

Yes, I'm aware some of you will just think....here's just an old white bigot, scared that what he remembers as the good ole days are slipping by....

I would respond to that with....nope, not scared in the least. Just sad to actually be able to watch my country turn into something I hoped it wouldn't.

Lots of states are starting to change color. When that happens, the electoral college changes. When that happens, radical legislation gets passed. When that happens, amending the Constitution is a breeze.
You say....we'll be fine?

I guess we'll see.

Our direction for the past 30 years as a nation has been going the opposite direction regardless of what the majority want.

Recall the study done that showed .5% of the population pretty much determine where the country goes.

That is taxation without representation and they should be overthrown.

Bigoted old folks like yourself failed to steward the country in any other way. You failed, this is the result.

Yeah! No harm in embracing Communism. It's just a choice.

Plenty of threads doing just the opposite here moneill. Actually worse considering language along the lines of "can't wait 'til the old people die off".

The nation is currently the most successful, powerful, and influential nation state that the human race has ever produced and its showing no signs of slowing down in the long term. So tell us, how have the old folks failed to steward the country????

most of the people who want access to global warming have got it already, the health care debate has gone on at least since nixon created hmos in 1973, and i dont think anybody really wants access to mass shootings.

its the racial equality part that has me worried. so theyre going to take everybody, and divvy them up so that the country is equal parts white, equal parts asian, equal parts black, and equal parts hispanic? its whites and hispanics that are going to suffer the most under that regime, and while asians will flourish, blacks are right behind hispanics in terms of population. id ask where we are supposed to get enough asians to balance out the rest, but we can probably import them. all in all its a silly idea, very impractical and i shudder to think what we are supposed to do with all the extra white people. better get to canada, while you still can. when are we going to make mexico equal too?
