He actually was responding to many pilots who fly the plane who have been complaining in an internal database. You know the people who actually fly the plane.

Good! I agree with Trump in this instance. I'm glad he made the right call on something!

35 countries have grounded the planes. boeing has said it is on board with the grounding. the FCC is involved in this grounding (2 days after most others grounded them)

and freaking Canada wont even left those in the air fly into their airspace.

As soon as the black boxes are analyzed they should know enough to get the fleet flying again, or come up with a modification to the plane to get it airworthy again. This is temporary, and yes it stinks for the airlines, and Boeing, but if there were another accident people would be calling for Trump's head and also calling him a slave to big business.

There are comments all over the news about pilots expressing shock that they were not informed about this new system and how it operates. There are also reports that the Angle of Attack sensor used to feed this system was faulty in the first crash. There are reports of at least a few cases like this in the USA, although pilots were able to disable the system.

If your automated system is pulling the airplane nose down due to faulty sensor and your pilots are not even aware that the plane is outfitted with a system that automatically pulls the nose down to avoid perceived stall, how do you think that's going to turn out?

This is criminal, the way Boeing and FAA handled the rollout of this new 737 version.

I'm going to put a lot more trust in real pilot accounts and what's already become clear so far from the first crash investigation than in your opinion that there is "absolutely no evidence" of anything wrong. I think you need to open your eyes and look at reality.

Apparently Canada and FAA have found new satellite imagery detailing the the crashes were nearly identical this is why they are grounding it as well.

That is sorta the beef pilots have with Boeing right now - it took a crash before Boeing even admitted that, oh, yeah, we installed this MCAS thing that may automatically apply down-trim, we probably should have mentioned that.

Ethiopian has a Class 1 FAA safety rating. It's not a corner-cutting airline.

None of them really has the equiv. of the FAA - it's the top org of the type in the world. The standard. The best safety record in history.

Obviously if you and I didn't know anything we'd say "plane bad"...but if you know things (FAA and Boeing), you look at the actual facts.

The first crash was the combo of bad sensors and bad maintenance and pilots who didn't know about the system.

We don't know about the 2nd crash. We know US Airlines wouldn't let a first office with only 200 hours aloft fly this machine.

My guess is that most facts are already out there and that basic knowledge of the NEW system does away with the danger.
Look at all this spin in the name of being partisan and hating Trump. Get over politics for once and realize this is an actual safety issue that effects the tens of thousands of people who fly every day.

A couple of them maybe - bad apples. The pilots union said the plane was fine and they have had no problems that they could not deal with. This move by Trump was driven by politics and not facts. It appears to have worked as the emotional "thinkers" from both ends of the poltical spectrum are praising the move.
