You do realize the US was the last country to halt flying this aircraft right? Why did our allies shut it down sooner? Your digging your hole deeper and deeper.

Surely his base, who hardly ever fly, will think it wonderful. Always pandering to his voters. Sickening for America.
Yesterday, the base was all up in arms about Senator Feinstein recommending grounding.

Today, the base will praise Trump for his leadership.

And today, his anti-base is tearing down this decision. What are the odds that people will align with their gang ties in politics.

Not to be confused with the jackasses on this forum and in the media and who criticized Feinstein yesterday, for recommending grounding.

I have said all along that Boeing was betting the farm by not grounding. If they were wrong, Boeing would be toast as would 150,000 jobs.

What's the worst that could happen if they ground planes unnecessarily? Some lost funds, a few canceled/delayed flights.

What's the worst that could happen if they refuse to ground unsafe planes? A couple hundred lives lost when one of those planes crashes.

Not a tough decision, IMO. And I am not someone who is afraid to fly.

Trump Announces Grounding of Boeing 737 Max 8 Aircraft

I didn't know it was up to the president.

Did the FAA want to ground the plane and Trump previously overruled them then change his mind, or did the FAA previously NOT want to ground the plane and Trump just now overruled them?

Or was it something else?

Not all of us.

I support the decision and don't care if it came from Trump or the FAA ...as long as it happened.

It's the right thing.

Business wise -- Boeing missed the opportunity to lead on this story -- they let it happen to them.

The silver lining in this decision, bad as it is, is that both left and right find much to cheer. The left is thrilled at the chance to exercise the regulatory muscle while the right will react in kneejerk praise for Trump.
