As a Democrat would you be in favor of expanding the Supreme Court to maybe 11 Judges?
If these Dem Presidential Nominees push the idea and it catches on and Trump is re-elected, should he be able to put the additional appointments on the court?
Seems to me you've got to be careful what you ask for. I'd love to see 2-3 more Conservative Judges on SCOTUS if you agree we should expand.
Not a Dem, but I can see this rallying their base. On the flip side, I can also see it energizing conservatives. Either way, a dangerous idea of disastrous proportions.

I agree. This is an area where we don't want to go. If the Dems do it or even suggest they will try it, Reps will retaliate by doing the same thing to ensure their majority. The system will never again function as it's supposed to.

The system stopped functioning like it was supposed to when Garland didn’t even get a hearing.
If that’s what they plan to do, then Republicans might as well start loading up the court now. It will become a contest of who can confirm the most judges during their presidential term.
What a great idea!!!
Every time power changes sides we can add 3 or 6 or 9 new judges to the supreme court. In a few decades we'll have as many supreme court justices as we do members of the Senate.
