Because at the time the investigation was ongoing, and no conclusions had been reached. That's why it's calle an "investigation". Trying to stop the legal investigation would be "obstructing" it.

The left accuse the right of what they are guilty of. You are exposing yourself.

People who are wanting Barr and Mueller to "exonerate" Trump are really showing their lack of understanding. That is not how it works. Prosecutors either charge or they don't. There are no levels of guilt or levels of innocence. They don't prove innocence.

Proving that was the reason for his firing when there is no collusion will be very difficult. Dems wanted Comey fired months earlier.

Oh stuff it Mad Maxi! Impeachment, impeachment, impeachment. She will drive dems to vote for Trump by running her ignorant mouth. What an idiot.

Why try to obstruct the case if you're not guilty?

Obstruction of justice statutes generally require "corrupt" intent. As you point out, it's practically impossible to prove a corrupt intent when the prosecutor concedes there was no crime.

What a pity we don't have Barr's justification for his opinion.
