If Trump did not collude with Russia why would firing Comey to stop the investigation be obstruction? This will be a very important point when all of the information is reviewed and Dems go down their endless hearings road. It basically removes the motive in the case for obstruction.
Because at the time the investigation was ongoing, and no conclusions had been reached. That's why it's calle an "investigation". Trying to stop the legal investigation would be "obstructing" it.
People who are wanting Barr and Mueller to "exonerate" Trump are really showing their lack of understanding. That is not how it works. Prosecutors either charge or they don't. There are no levels of guilt or levels of innocence. They don't prove innocence.
I wonder when the fake news experts will apologize to the american people for the witch hunt against Trump.. I’m not a lawyer, but to me, it seems like that would work in Trump’s favor. If it has been established that there is no evidence of collusion, what is the motive for obstruction? All that stuff that looks like possible obstruction could just be Trump being Trump.
Obstruction of justice statutes generally require "corrupt" intent. As you point out, it's practically impossible to prove a corrupt intent when the prosecutor concedes there was no crime.
