Years ago in a museum of the west they had a sign by a horse drawn wagon.......stating it only took 3 DAYS to go from Beaumont to San Bernardino. A distance I can easily cover in 30 minutes on my cycle on I-10. We have the need for speed.
Only the upper-class had those. This is different.
When they first came out, but not today, cars and trucks kill 100s of 1000s of people in accidents, all over the world.
But we tolerate all these deaths and consider it an acceptable trade off, for the benefits that motorized cars and trucks provide, this is NO different from the self driving cars issue imo. Why would it be any different?
Thats almost comical that someone today would attack a self driving car, but then drive home in their modern car or truck!! LOL Id love to hear how they justify owning and driving a type of vehicle that has contributed to the deaths of 100s of millions of people over the years!

It's almost like if you have to do something more then once, your job is up for automation.
Virtually everybody's job is at risk of automation. They are building algorithms right now that are more accurate and efficient at diagnosing patients than real doctors are, because these programs will have access to absolutely every symptom or illness or condition ever recorded, and the ability to access that vast amount of information in a matter of seconds.
People who think automation is only going to affect burger flippers and bank tellers, and yes, even automobiles, have no idea what's on the horizon.
