She was elected to her judgeship, not appointed. Served two terms, then ran to get the nomination to oppose Hillary Clinton for NY Senator, then dropped out of that race to run for NY AG, lost to Andrew Cuomo. Been a talking head ever since.

Her husband, a republican lobbyist was sentenced to 29 months in prison back in 2000 for tax evasion, she was not prosecuted.

I'm not a huge fan of hers but don't think what she said was all that terrible. Her remark about questioning Omar's loyalty is legit. I think this is more about the way she said it and not what she said.

It certainly isn't as bad as the anti-Semitic comments that come out of the left which usually have no repercussions, and we all know why that is.
