It all came to a head recently when one of the 347 announced Democratic presidential candidates — a guy named John Hickenlooper, a former governor of Colorado — turned up for an interview on the Electronic Daily Diary of the American Dream, MSNBC’s Morning Joe. Hickenlooper is beyond a long shot for the White House, but the 10-minute slot on national TV was a great chance to ask him where he stands, or why he was such a fossil-fuel zealot that he once drank fracking fluid.

But America got none of this. Instead, there was a kind of Spanish Inquisition to ruthlessly pressure Hickenlooper (who got in start in life as a brew-pub owner, with beer striking most people as something very good about capitalism) to look into the camera and declare, “I am a capitalist.”

Unfortunately, there was no one in the room to over and over again press these overpaid and overly self-satisfied talking heads to admit the truth: That in fact it’s capitalism — or at least the corrupt, rigged, oligarch-enriching system that we like to call “capitalism” in 2019 — that is the thing that’s in trouble. The team over at Morning Joe must never actually pick up a morning newspaper, because if they did they’d be asking each other just why would anyone call himself “a proud capitalist”? There’s little to be proud of.

And herein lies the problem.. the right wing puppet corporate masters that are salivating to destroy whatever is left of democracy and once and all and officially turn the USA into an Oligarchy are demonizing Democratic Socialism so that no one will notice how screwed up and corrupt the Capitalism system we have here her has become. Fix the rigged crap or scrap it! These greedy creatures want it all.

You can't fix it if the system requires greed to be rewarded and all else punished.

Even Norway and Denmark are passing neo-liberal reform as the pressures from global trade are forcing them to conform.

If you reform the system it will just corrupt itself again. Its time to rework our system away from credit spending, loans, rent, and speculations. In other words, away from capitalism.

If there can be a Governor Hickenlooper, then there can be a President Hickenlooper.

Not in 2020.

Either way the stage is being set for another era of neoliberal reform. India, China, Vietnam, Nigeria, Brazil, Canada, France, and now the United states want to push further off the cliff.

People like Hickenlooper think the only moral action is economic growth, and that all else is morally evil. That means freedom, democracy, happiness, and sustainability are trashed compared to the needs of concentrated private wealth to expand consumer choice.

Capitalism is the unequal sharing of wealth.

Socialism is the equal sharing of misery.

Nice campaign note to reach the masses.

It fits well on a meme and gets people to ignore the systemic problems with an economic system controlled by financial institutions under the guise of speculation, investment, and rent.

These three factors means control of local industries, democratic rights of people, and an sustainable environment in exchange for more market choice for consumers.

That is the reality we are living in, not some 1950s red scare propaganda.

In other words, socialism.

It doesn’t work.

Un-****ing-believable. 71% of people think the economy is doing well, a majority crediting Trump, and libdem ****bags continue to cry about something being wrong (not saying you...you sound good).

Double un-****ing believable. We have Democrat presidential candidates like Sanders who are openly socialist, and others like Harris and Warren who feel the need to declare that they aren't, despite having virtually the same policies, and libdem ****bgs are trying to paint it as some sort of witch hunt to point out what their candidates are actually saying.

Triple un-****ing-believable. Joseph McCarthy was right on the money. God bless the man.
