Is the rise of socialism putting the American way of life at risk?
Fox News contributor Liz Peek on the rising threat of socialism as we approach the 2020 election.

Sure hope it doesn't come to this.

Trump just made a speech where he said, "American will never be a Socialist country" what are you talking about? It's the newly elected Dems who want to be socialist.

In order to slow down the Socialist tendencies of America, will janelle send back her Social Security checks and buy her health insurance on the open market instead of signing up for Medicare when she's 65?

We pay into Social Security so I don't know why that would be an entitlement. I'm already on Medicare and yes I would give it up, it's horrible. I want the open market for competition. We still have to have a medical supplement anyway. My drugs cost more on Medicare but the government doesn't care since it's the tax payers who pay for most of it.

Did Mr. Trump really say that? Does he not realize that "America" is a noun, and "American" is an adjective?

I hope that this is a typo.

Agree. We need to redefine what an "entitlement" is. Programs that you have paid into all your life with the promise you will get the benefits when you're too old to work are entitlements. Pure giveaways like Medicaid, food stamps, subsidized housing, school lunch programs, etc., are NOT something to which people are entitled. Thus:

Social security and Medicare: Entitlements
Medicaid, food stamps, and subsidized housing: Government charity programs

The last thing we need is for low-income people to feel "entitled" to these things. They need to recognize that Americans are paying out of their own pockets to support them, and feel appreciative. Not entitled.

The government does not care because big pharma pays them to not care. Google term: Billy Tauzin

Then give it up. No one is forcing you to be on Medicare. Be the strong and brave and self reliant conservative you claim to be. As long as you continue to take advantage of that socialist Medicare you are every bit as much the socialist (and hypocrite) that you accuse everyone else of being.
