It's just pretty gutless to be attacking a dead man, when the dead can't defend himself. This is the president of all people behaving this way. Love or hate McCain, at least he served his country, he gave of himself. What did Trump do, use every excuse to get out of serving. You got some real issues if you still fighting with the dead, that's just crazy.

How do staunch Republicans that are also Veterans or served in the military and voted for Trump process this?

Here's a President that never served in the military let alone see combat, be wounded, incarcerated by the enemy, etc. trash talking a deceased war hero who can no longer even defend himself?

Republican Veterans, if your out there, weigh in here....

Because they are worried about getting elected again, and don't want to upset Trump. They want to stay on Trump good side. They are pretty gutless as well.

It shows a complete lack of character, something Trump's supporters have trouble recognizing.

No, there isn't "that". "That" is something you just made up for this occasion. It's not a thing, and it's really stupid to pretend that it is.

It tells me that a good many vets who support Trump over this are simply the type who grovel at the feet of authoritarian figures, even those with alleged bone spurs.

Meanwhile, Trump has never attacked, with his big mouth, nor tweeted with his little fingers, Dylann Roof by name.

I don’t ever remember Obama attacking Timothy McVeigh, so he must of supported him ..
