If you go back and watch V For Vendetta it’s the same thing, fear plays a huge part in all of it in Trumps agenda, and his supporters are falling for it hook line and sinker.

Listen to people like Rush, Fox News, where everything is an alert. Be afraid of anything or anyone that isn’t of the right.

The President is correct that Clinton News Network is unrivaled on the global stage; that's the only reason why the network hasn't collapsed in the USA, as its ratings here are terrible compared to the competition. When I travel overseas, this is clear as day.

That said, and while I acknowledge that something should be done to counter the disgrace that is Clinton News Network internationally, I don't believe that government should play any role here. Rather, private enterprise should be the way to go.

You seem confused, it's not a Democrat/Leftist calling for the state run media as in 1984, perhaps you should read the book.

President Donald Trump on Monday suggested the US should form a state-run, global news network to counter what he called "unfair" coverage from CNN.

"While CNN doesn't do great in the United States based on ratings, outside of the U.S. they have very little competition," Trump said via Twitter. "Throughout the world, CNN has a powerful voice portraying the United States in an unfair and false way."

The president added, "Something has to be done, including the possibility of the United States starting our own Worldwide Network to show the World the way we really are, GREAT!"

The concept of state-run news outlet is controversial in democratic societies because of its association with authoritarian regimes and propaganda. In countries like North Korea and China, media is strictly controlled and monitored by the government.

It's always 1984, since 1949, according to the side not in power.

Does the US still have Radio Free Europe? A friend who grew up in Romania learned English by listening to it. I don't think we need anything like that today because with the internet you can watch most things online. There are always plenty of positive comments from foreigners on conservative videos and Trump videos on youtube.

When the Covington kid wins his millions in CNN and media settlements, let's see if the hacks learn their lesson, especially if shareholders' money is involved

It's never been like this before, we have our very own petty tyrant wannabe in the White House, first time in all our lifetimes.
