It’s interesting how you are trying to justify what Trump is wanting to do.

Doesn’t it matter one way our the other? But let’s assume he does, how long before he kicks them off the air?

I tell you what, we will go ahead and remove all government funding of it since it doesn't need it... Okay, feel better? Last time it was mentioned and the liberals thought it was the end of NPR.. but if you don't have a problem with it... Cause I know you do...

Here ya go -- the Voice of America. TV feed in upper right corner. Trump's government already has it, he just doesn't know it.

President Donald Trump on Monday suggested the US should form a state-run, global news network to counter what he called "unfair" coverage from CNN.

"While CNN doesn't do great in the United States based on ratings, outside of the U.S. they have very little competition," Trump said via Twitter. "Throughout the world, CNN has a powerful voice portraying the United States in an unfair and false way." The president added, "Something has to be done, including the possibility of the United States starting our own Worldwide Network to show the World the way we really are, GREAT!"

The concept of state-run news outlet is controversial in democratic societies because of its association with authoritarian regimes and propaganda. In countries like North Korea and China, media is strictly controlled and monitored by the government.

Dictator indeed.

What a terrific post! It's really creepy, just what Trump considers "great."

We have the internet and alternative news sources so there's no need to panic and worry about fake news or the feds clamping down on freedom of speech and information.

Personally, I am worried about the feds clamping down on news shows. That’s against the Constitution. We will be heading toward crowning Trump as King,

To be honest, I blame the people (citizens) more than a president or govt officials for letting it get this close to '1984', its the citizens responsibility to recognize and stand up to stop this kind of thing when necessary!

WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO REMOVE A GOVT FROM POWER, the constitution grants us this, even if by force if necessary, so there is no excuse for NOT taking action.
