Ford has lost a billion dollars, and car sales are down. They seem to believe that Trump's tariffs have something to do with that. Their response will be to lay off 12% of their global workforce.

Thanks, Donnie. You're a heckuva negotiator.

Story is from October 2018. Why are you just posting this now?

Regardless, even Snopes called BS on the idea that the layoffs were caused by Trump's tariffs.

Ford maintained that the layoffs were part of an ongoing reorganization plan and were not the product of losses resulting from new tariffs.

This is dated. Don't think the layoffs materialized after they saw public's reaction to GM

I thought Snopes was unreliable. Is that just when they post information detrimental to Trump?

Ford wants to build Fords in China. You want a Ford built in China......go right ahead. That was the tariff issue.
Ford stopped building small cars here. They cannot compete with Japans quality.

The link confirms they have lost billion dollars due to Trump tax (tariffs).

It's been known for a while now that Ford will stop building cars and focus on trucks. Has nothing to do with tariffs. American cars suck, people have voted with their wallets.

The domestic automakers just can't compete. There's a reason why two of them went bankrupt and the third just barely avoided it.

I drive a Ford truck, I have nothing against them, but you can't blame Trump on this one. GM, Chrysler, and Ford are laying off while Toyota is hiring.
