They must not have much of a Democratic Government when 1 person can put a ban like this in place without a vote of the people.

Isn't this the type power people like Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Castro had ?

New Zealand did not ban assault weapons. Only 1 person banned these weapons.

That AR needs a nice optic on it.

There has been a lull in AR sales as the market is somewhat saturated. Like flat screens----once everyone has three, sales taper off until the next techno-benefit of replacing them.

Luckily, guns don't have an expiration date! Nor ammo!

This latest event will rev up sales once again. Thanks all you gun grabbers!

You don't understand their parliamentary system and are utterly wrong to compare this to some sort of dictatorship. This will still go through parliament on Monday. There is full support for this measure and it will receive unanimous parliamentary support.

No referendum is required.

The firearm was designed to propel projectiles at high velocity. It is up to the end user on how it’s deployed. So knives are designed to kill, so are hammers, so are cars, etc.

Life went on just fine.

There were also far less mass shootings here using the AR-15 when it was banned than after the ban expired.
No it wasn’t. Get a clue.

There are two devices that I have seen change some people while operating, motorcycles and assault style rifles. It's weird to see people get on a motorcycle or shoot at AR15 at the range and see the change, motorcycles and assault rifles are the ID machines of Freud's dreams. I can't explain it, and its not just cultural to us in the US either.

They both have a cosmetic aspect that comes with a certain "attitude", perhaps aids the person to become what ever person they want to be. Same people shoot a hand gun or drive a car and have no big reaction. Not sure why.

On most of the many scales available by independent org's/agencies, the U.S. with it's "constitution" doesn't even make it into the top 25 of countries whose citizens enjoy the most freedoms and liberties

So much for that vaunted "constitution" nonsense.

Sounds like there will be a lot of gun owners really pissed-off. That's always a good thing.
