It needs Amazon about as much as Aspen, Colorado needs another ski slope.

Places like NYC turn away companies like Amazon, because they can.

This is the perfect example of "can't see the forest for the trees".

NY lost all those jobs, revenue, side businesses and growth for it's people. They complain about not having enough good jobs and one lands on their lap and they toss it off like a hot potato. Crazy.

That's because Trump's "boom" is starting to fall apart.

And in the case of NYC, a bit of a slowdown is probably a good thing.

I thought you posted in one thread that you are Persian. I’m surprised that you were born here because of your lack of understanding on most basic fundamental things that were taught here.

My parents are.

But that's besides the point. I understand, like millions of Americans in the past, that an economy based on loans, credit, rent, speculations, and corporate consolidation/collusion is not in the interests of democracy, freedom, or the average person.

Where do you think agrarian populism came from. It was against the financial authority over the economy.

Sadly people today are brainwashed into thinking economic is a moral good and all policy should promote it regardless of the fact that it just gives more power to highly concentrated areas of wealth.

Almost 40 percent of New York voters believe Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-N.Y.) bears responsibility as a "villain" in Amazon's decision to back out of its plan to put a second headquarters in Queens, according to a new poll.
The Siena College poll, which was released on Monday, found that 38 percent of New York voters thought of the freshman congressman as a "villain" when they were asked to consider her role in the tech giant's exit.

Siena College found that 67 percent of New York voters viewed Amazon's exit as a detrimental move for the state.
