If there is something I fear coming after me, it would be a hammer, a wrench, a bat. All can break bones and the bat has the ability of further reach. The hammer especially is like a mace, an incredible force multiplier because of the heavy head.

A lot of women fear screwdrivers or knives because of the disfigurement of beauty.

Almost all of these are not built to hurt people.

So you tell me, what's the difference?

Thanks for the reminder. I forgot Bernie used to be pretty strong on gun rights as a senator, just as he used to be pretty strong on immigration enforcement. He can’t really do that in today’s Democratic Party.

The difference is you can't outrun a bullet, where you can outrun a melee weapon

Do you think this naked power grab is a selling point for the Democrats? I think it’s terrifying. They’ve also bandied about letting 16-year olds and illegals vote.

I want a real choice in the election, but the Democrats refuse to give me one.

Perhaps you can explain why your typical mass shooter doesn't use a knife, a screwdriver or bat.

Could it be because he/she can dispense and inflict their damage by many multiples at a safe distance or remotely, thereby being able to reach out and harm without actually putting themselves within reach of harm themselves...that aspect of human interaction for which the firearm was expressly designed while hammers, knives, screwdrivers and baseball bats were not.

Exactly, and this is why guns ruined warfare forever. Back in the days of only melee weapons, you had to get close up to your target and look them in the eye. Which made warfare less desirable (which is a good thing)

I can't. I was never a fast runner and after a stage injury during the Obama-McCain election, my running days are over.

My options are now limited to whatever I can use to avoid him and if not that, then take him out.

What do you tell the other people who are not fast runners?

Your case aside, you're being ridiculous

Well, keep in mind that Richard Speck was pretty successful in what he did.

When it is someone like him and you are the victim, it really sucks that he has the upper hand and your are defenseless. It probably would even suck more when you know there is someone somewhere armchair quarterbacking the nightmare you are facing.

And you don't have to. It is your right not understand it. Just like myself as a pro firearm person can't understand how people have such a fear over them. It's all about choice but owning one is a right. A right that one can choice to embrace or not.
Now when it comes to taking that right away is where the problems are. I think everyone of us pro firearms people would fight just as hard for the other 26 Amendments, would you ?
