Interesting since many of his writing and supporters seem to think black folks are lesser human beings.
"Paul made nearly one million dollars in just one year from publishing the (racist) newsletters."
More recently I had a friend that attended a couple Tea Party rallies...which were also pushing Ron Paul. He honestly thought that perhaps the "movement" was about what the talking points mentioned.
When he started talking to the others at the rally, he found out different. He said he had never heard so many racist tirades in his entire life...and this was in New England!
If I spout all kinds of warmed over ideals (nothing new in Paul stuff!) which are 75% true, 10% 1/2 true and 15% total BS, will I be a hero also?
It's interesting that so-called libertarians still need authority figures....
I don't need authority figures. I denounce Paul's voluntary association with the State.
Yeah. Trump was busy donating to Hillary Clinton's 2008 presidential campaign back when the Ron Paul Revolution was underway. Trump has never been a fan of the RP Rev.
Interestingly, Steve Bannon, who I think was Trump's campaign chief at the end, has said that he has little use for libertarians. He derided the CATO institute. I think Bannon was more responsible than anyone for Trump's election and approach on polices.
One place they do agree is that Bannon, an ex-Navy officer, was decidedly non-interventionist. One of the 3 big planks he had Trump adopt was "stay out of pointless foreign wars."
He in fact is in some ways. Jefferson was known for being a mess of contradictions, but he was definitely a limited government guy. When he took office in 1801, the State Department had nine employees including the Secretary of State. Jefferson said that it was "too complicated, too expensive."
Today State has 70,000 employees including contractors. I believe Trump may have slightly cut that number.
He is usually considered the founder of the anti-federalist party (often called the Democratic-Republican party). Their whole raison d'etre was limited government, same as today's libertarians.
Libertarians have no "version" of a state or government. They are like anyone else with simplistic thinking...they are against most everything without providing a sane, reasonable and workable solutions.
What else is new? People have been giving easy solutions to complex problems for thousands of years...to those looking for such.
The 24 Types of Libertarian: "no fair oversimplifying our simplistic philosophy!"
If you embrace freedom you wouldn't touch any one of them with a 10-ft pole.
Your definition of statist is absurd.
