Seems like every day there is an article that a passive plea for universal paid parental leave and universal free or subsidized child care.
One of the people in the article mentions "appreciation that mom brings different qualities and contributions" and that her heavily government subsidized employer reschedules meetings to accomodate family obligations.
Interesting, how the examples of employers that the mother worked for that provide all these special programs were mainly high-profit margin companies that get lots of government money.
All these family-friendly programs that there is a crusade towards would never work for a low-margin profit margin company that doesn't rely heavily on government handouts.
Now, there is a movement for flexible schedule, backup childcare and rescheduling meetings to meet family obligations.
As one that doesn't have children, I wonder how much all these new programs will cost the taxpayers or reduce workplace profit margins.
