Bush was not part of the "right".

They account for themselves. That's the difference between journalists and opinionists.

Journalists report the facts. If they report an untruth, whether intentionally or unintentionally, they are expected to say so by the ethics of their profession.

If a journalist lies intentionally, he's punished by others in his profession.

Opinionists can lie because they aren't dealing in facts. So they aren't accountable for the truth. And because they aren't accountable, they can say anything they want, true or false, at will, with no fear of punishment.

If you understand this difference, then you can determine who is speaking the truth or not. Truth has some factual basis in it, and those facts can be discovered if you think it's important enough to verify for yourself.

Opinions can't always be verified by facts. Some prove to be true, some not.

How can you tell the difference between a journalist and an opinionist? Ask who has the most to lose by lying. Or, if you think there's some hidden agenda going on, ask who has the least to lose by lying.

If the truth rubs you the wrong way, it's painful, but it's still the truth. And the truth holds up. Lies do not for very long.

No, I think I engaged your point pretty well. The New York Times is a business that exists to profit its shareholders. It trades on the NYSE, and is currently listed at $32.74 per share. It is purely capitalist, and does not exist for any other reason than to make money.

Like I said, if its product--that is, its readers--like what it is selling, they will buy it, and the NYT can charge advertisers appropriately. If its product (readers) don't like what the NYT says, it cannot sell as much advertising, its revenue goes down, investors lose confidence, and consequently, its stock price goes down. This is Capitalism 101.

You seem to be arguing from a point where some "Dr. Evil" is behind the NYT and the Washington Post and CNN, wringing his hands, and laughing at the efforts of conservative news outlets, which he constantly thwarts, regardless of a profit motive. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The NYT and CNN and the Washington Post are for-profit businesses. There is no Dr. Evil controlling them; what controls them is profit. The United States has a free press, but if that free press isn't making money, it won't last long.

Your allegation that the New York Times isn't a for-profit business fails in light of the facts.

It's time to move on already. It's true, they gave Trump crazy amounts of coverage during the election, unfair to the other candidates and probably handing him the win. They over-reported the bogus Comey Claims on HRC on the eve of the election. They reported his promises and claims and didn't really challenge him on their validity. THEY helped him to dupe a large portion of the American People. They were/are complicit in so much of how Trump got elected, but you can't change that.

Go out, become educated, research things for yourself. He is our POTUS, but we can do better in 2020.

Yeah that definitely worked on CNN. Down 41% last year, that speaks volumes. You think after being beat by Nickelodeon in ratings they would make changes but NOPE!

We are talking about the media lying! It’s been proven over and over that they are just making up crap, thus the huge loss of ratings. Let’s hear your thoughts on that...

Yes Hannity who has the highest news ratings out of all of them. That video shows how much lying goes on yet you can’t even address it.
