$850 million is the total that has been spent on mental health programs. One politician and the NY Post says there is large waste and "no one knows where the money went"; but that is not the same as an auditor saying that. There may be large waste and an auditor may say that or may have said that in private but that is not what was in the link.

Oh hey the city put out an explanation of where $751 million went almost 2 months ago:

https://thrivenyc.cityofnewyork.us/w...Y20-Prelim.pdf

There are disagreements about how many programs should be included and whether spending in the last quarter thru June is counted the same in each total.

City comptroller Scott Stringer said he planned to look into the finances of the mental health initiative two months ago. No report yet to my knowledge.

So, stay tuned. Not concluded yet. Or jump to conclusions before the facts are fully in, if you want.

Sane people understand that we have to balance our household finances or go broke, bankrupt, to jail in some cases.

Money isn't infinite just because the FED can print all the petrodollars it wants. The FED is us, as in, "we the people" which buy the bulk of our own debt. So, the politicians have our credit card. It's an AMEX with no limit and no monthly payment, except interest.

We (you and I) taxpayers are paying almost $400B a year in interest alone. Add the $700B-$800 deficits each year and it compounds.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects that interest payments will continue to grow rapidly, rising from $389 billion in fiscal year 2019 (the current fiscal year) to $914 billion in 2028.

Those few who believe there's plenty of money need to buy an econ for dummy's book.

ON TOP OF THAT, yes what money that is left is most certainly in the wrong hands.

If it's my money, and it's in my hands, then it's in the right hands.
