It would only seem "odd" if one is ignorant of the history of people being TARGETED for segregation and discrimination based upon their skin color, hence causing socioeconomic damage to people with that skin color. In order to REPAIR, you apply the force in an equal and opposite way. Ergo, you TARGET that skin color applying those things in an equal and opposite way.....to UPLIFT rather than to OPPRESS.
Say you expose a group of people to radiation over decades. The result of that exposure was much higher incidence of mutations and cancers in that population. If you were task with trying to undo that damage and higher incidence of mutations and cancer.....how could you do it without TARGETING the people who received the radiation or are the descendants of those who were radiated? Without a special effort......their issue is not going to just go away.
You have to target for repair based upon the same criteria used to target to destroy.
You and yours can separate yourselves all you wish.

I am no more a victim than those that you feel are the victims of liberalism. No "ism" produces victims...not communism, Marxism, racism, liberalism, socialism...ect. Right? Or is it only the "ism" of race that does not produce victims?
So was slavery the law. The law was used by whites to oppress blacks. Now whites are using this law to keep blacks from rising from the oppressed state. What I am talking about is moral law.
Slavery no longer exists and you must now operate within current laws, whether you find them moral or not. If you want segregation, by all means work toward this goal, I won't stop you.

Many years ago, back in MA, when my children were ready for school, a Black friend of mine suggested we join him and sign the kids up for METCO program, we went to their office filled out the paperwork, my kids were the only Whites, there were prolly 75-100 kids there that day.and were to wait for notification...his kids got notified, mine didn't. I new that was how it would go down, but went along with him anyway..no bent feelings, it's the way of the world.
The outrage du jour around Savannah this week was this meeting for Black Candidates, which barred white journalists (and white anybody else). For some reason I can’t quite put my finger on, I find it kind of funny. I think it is because those responsible thought it was a perfectly sensible idea.

The Black community in America has a different standard apparently than the White community. Perhaps it's a reaction to Jim Crow, imo no matter what the history, it's still wrong, and just part of a cycle of bigotry and intolerance. I'm sure many people said "imagine if a White church did this to unify the White community behind one candidate", imagine the outrage.
So Americans are you ok with these double standards and if so why?
