Restaurants are not easy businesses to get up and starting - so when you have one that is doing well, successful, etc, the last thing you're going to do is sit back and just "hope" everything continues to go well. You stay on top of the news, and you protect your investment, as best as you can, from anything that you see coming down the pipe line.
ABSOLUTELY.

It takes years...YEARS...of research and studying before you start a business--especially retail or food service.

We don't have a minimum wage here in Charleston SC area -- and restaurants are closing because they can't find people to work.

Hot job market -- you don't have folks looking for restaurant jobs.

And of course an employer is going to complain about paying more.

Chick- Fil-a is hiring in downtown NYC. They need a 2nd location right next door.

Restaurants take years and years of planning and hundreds of thousands of dollars of money to invest, so no smart business owner is gonna stop halfway through. It still doesn't change the fact that they're shedding jobs and raising prices, which will cause many of them to close their doors.
Have to disagree with that. People open and close restaurants like crazy, especially in trendy areas.

Many think having a restaurant is really easy until they try to do it and find out what it really entails. Then they close. What they don't understand is that the manager/owner has to be there at all times to manage. If they aren't, the service goes downhill and they lose business and close.

Restaurant owners are also big on expanding and owning more restaurants, which ruins the first good restaurant, as well as the new ones that do not do that well.

I don't care and probably won't ever eat a $45 hamburger in NYC.

Just keep that Chit in NYC and most of the rest of us will be fine. Liberals can live with their own problems. Just don't spread it out to middle America or complain your taxes are too high.

Those higher MW's just help keep my SS and Medicare solvent. The only one who really benefits is the Federal Govt.

If people are being paid more they don't need to work as many hours at as many jobs to get by, anyway. A lot of restaurant positions are a person's second or third job. So a 1.6 percent drop in positions is not necessarily a 1.6 percent increase in unemployment or underemployment.

Voluntary exchange is nature. People have been doing it for millennia.

I sure did! People are allowed to have more than one field of study.

Notice I also linked to one of the best and most respected economists in the country.

Complains about liberals...

Brags about “my SS and Medicare.”

MAGA truly is a mental disorder.
