I don't mean to sound mean because it is heartbreaking. But, how about a little personal responsibility. Uber tells you about your ride, you are supposed to check the plates. Don't just hop in, that's crazy.

This is why it’s always important to check the license plate before jumping in a car .

But I’m sure when people have been drinking they might just see an Uber decal on a car and just assume it’s their car .
Maybe they need another layer of security, like a code word.

Her death serves as a reminder for all women who have been drinking to be more careful about choosing the right vehicle. It was a tragic mistake and I feel terrible for her family. Hope he gets the death penalty.

Poor girl. She made a mistake in getting in the wrong car and the guy in that car took that opportunity to kill and do who knows what else to her. It’s an awful chain of events. Sad for her family.

This is very sad and breaks my heart.

So what, this guy just driving around looking for people to murder? Did he try something with her and she refused, so he killed her? That doesn't make sense. Sad all around but no pity for this lunatic.

That’s the scary part. It’s so random. I doubt he was planning to kill anyone but when the opportunity popped up, he took it.

Sadly I wouldn’t be surprised if he raped her. That’s often the case with murdered females, both women and juvenile girls. The assailant’s main goal is to rape the victim but then they don’t want any loose ends, don’t want them the victim to later serve them with justice. Unfortunately it seems Uber is providing as much information as possible to riders—name and photo of the driver, as well as tear, make, model, and color of car with license plate. It’s disgusting that some creature who just happened to be driving around decided to snuff out an innocent life.

This happened in my state's capital so it has had a pretty big news presence. Apparently when he picked her up the child locks were activated on the rear doors. He was caught in the same area the next night even though the body had been left over an hour away.

I cannot imagine this was his first crime- possibly first time he was caught but not first crime. The only reason he was caught is because police (and the general public) had surveillance video of her getting into his vehicle. And she was discovered by hunters within 24 hours.

The big lesson is to always stay in a lit, camera covered area- preferably with other people- and check the vehicle. Sadly, women might also want to consider not traveling unaccompanied.

She died a horribly violent and bloody death. Times like this we should emulate Saudi Arabia and perform a public execution and chop his head off with a sword while onlookers enjoy the show. Saudi Arabia is the 3rd safest country in the world. America is number 116 on the list. We are way too soft on violent murderers.

Saudi Arabia is no utopia, especially not for women.
