Pot is a white drug. Black drugs tend to gender neutral; white drugs are biased toward men.
Pot is a white drug? Lol, you must never go to areas of your city where there are majority blacks living there because you can smell the pot in every convenience store & in cars that pass by you.
All the studies show this. Addicts tend to be people who feel like they have no purpose and society has forgotten them. If men feel like they have no purpose its been shown they usually turn to drinking.
Yeahbut there was always girls hanging around too. The guys were usually the connoisseurs though.
Today, it might be somewhat considered a "bro" thing too, as people like Joe Rogan tout the benefits of weed and some other drugs as part of self improvement.
It was a bro thing. Weed takes a bit of prep. Sifting, separating twigs and seeds, cleaning the pipe etc. There's lots of guy time involved. Its kind of dirty too. It stains your fingers, leaves a smell, there's smoke and ashes also.
Wasn't sure if this was the right forum for this but here goes. It seems that ever since marijuana became legal, at least where I live, three out of four of my close guy friends are all over it now and like it. I never had much interest in it myself.
But I noticed that my women friends have no interest at all it seems compared to my guy friends. There wives and gfs don't do it with them at all, and when I asked, they said that their women SOs just weren't into it.
So I looked it up and seems that statistically, twice as man men are into it compared to women:
But I was just curious as to why that is. Is it a feminism thing, and marijuana has just not caught up compared to women doing other things that men do, and it's all in good time perhaps? Just curious what the reason was, if anyone knew.
Lol. I think women are less likely to admit it--especially moms. But all the women I know smoke it as much as their partners, but don't let their kids know.
There are lots of secret weed smokers that emerge from the shadows when it is made legal. The medical marijuana smokers in Florida sure seems comprised of as many women as men (in dispensaries).
Over the 30 or so years I have been around people who smoke, I would say that the gender disparity is not that great, but male smokers do outnumber female smokers, maybe 4:5 or so in my experience. The same can be said for drinking alcohol in the same groups.
That said, the small disparity that does exist can probably be chalked up to the fact that women tend to be be more risk averse. Cannabis carries the risk of fines or imprisonment, social reprobation, and some mild health risks. Men tend to flirt with the negative implications of these things at a higher rate than women. Some of that could be social conditioning, some of it could be hard-wired.
