There's a huge difference. Detroit was a one industry town. California isn't.

In a month when much of the country had the one of the coldest, snowiest months on record-CA did comparatively well? Whoda thunk it?

That's not what killed Detroit. Politics and racial issues did.

California is already insolvent and well on it's way to Bankruptcy. It has a massive infrastructure deficit and crippling Taxes and Regulations.

Too bad, I'm already there. Ha ha!

Despite how much CA sucks compared to how it was when I was growing up, of course I don't want to see a state NOT have any jobs. Unlike the left, who would love nothing more than to see President Trump fail, and the country fail, just so they can screech about it, I would actually like to see CA succeed. If there are more jobs available, that means more people are working - which means less tax burden on me. Win.

The question is, what jobs did they add?

California will definitely have to reshape and rethink some things in the future, but I don't see the state going anywhere. The real estate and jobs are there.

I welcome them to come move to my town to get it over 50,000 in population, so the town can be officially upgraded to a metro. Enid, also, in Oklahoma could use the same help.

These new houses being built in Stillwater are going to need somebody to move into them

Got news for you, I lived in Southern California, worked at companies that hired "illegals" and they were the hardest working people there, never missed work, never complained. They did take taxes out of their paychecks, and they were not on the government teat.

They also did jobs we are too good to take. So there goes that little theory of yours.

Look - everyone knows the basics.

3 States - CA, NY and MA - are responsible for over 70% of the Venture Capital in the USA......

In other words, the "invisible hand" has pointed to them and said "Yes, we are the Dream of Capital and the Free Market"......

Inconvenient truth, of course. Facts have a well known liberal bias!
