The whole industrial revolution, Charles Dickens, George Orwell, Beveridge Report and Nye Bevan part of British History must have escapred you for someone who pretends to know so much about British culture.
Adam Smith, who wrote the 'Wealth of Nations' and is the father of modern capitalism hailed from these shores, whilst Marx and Engels the fathers of communism based much of their work on the horrendous poverty they saw in English industrialised cities at the time.
The principal of universal healthcare and looking after socities most vulnerable is actually a fairly christian ethos rather than theft, and the US spends a lot more on housing over 2 million people in prison and on it's massive military industrial complex than most countries spend on healthcare, so is that also theft.
I think you've got it! Yay!
So, now, why are you a Trump supporter? Why on Earth do you try to tell yourself that the values of Trump and his supporters align with your own?
I don't know why YOU include the "confused" icon; I should be the one doing that.
Their reputation has hurt them severely in the Stock Market, as the trend line so clearly demonstrates.
I think it's clear what's happened here.
The OP, like so many of Trumps followers, believe all Trumps soundbites, in this case 'The failing New York Times' as though they are true.
I'm just wondering how long it's going to take before the penny drops and they realise that most of what he says is a lie.
I'm fairly convinced that Trump doesn't actually know the difference between truth and fiction.

The OP does seem rather confused, doesn't he? Good grief.
As for Trump: that guy lies so often, he believes his own lies.

I think you are confusing me with Roscoe Conkling.
As for get it, if get it means you don't understand British social, economic and political history then yes I get it.
In terms of Trump, I am British, and as such I don't get to vote in US Elections, however I have never stated that I support Trump or indeed any other US politician.

I'm not confusing anything. I said, "the OP seems rather confused." Roscoe is the OP.
But, yes, I thought he had written your post I responded to. Why, though, are you expounding the virtues of UHC to me? I'm a firm believer in UHC (I grew up in a country with it), and that's been evident in my posts. It seems you perhaps are confused about my posts, as I was about yours.
I've never claimed to be an expert on British social, economic and political history, but I understand it better than the OP understands AMERICAN social, economic and political history. That he doesn't understand that he doesn't understand has been my point all along.
The cognitive dissonance in his "arguments," as is often the case with Trump supporters, is amazing. Yet he called Trump critics "chumps." I, on the other hand, am smart enough to KNOW I don't know enough about the current social, economic and political climate of the UK to form an opinion on, say, Brexit, let alone publicly comment on it - in an online British forum, no less.
YOU are the ones often commenting on US political and social issues; I don't comment in the UK forum on British current events [/quote]

Neither am I.
But it's taking quite a while for you to have a lightbulb moment.
I'm not experiencing a "lightbulb moment." Because I haven't needed to.
I KNOW you're not right-wing. I've known that this entire thread. Anyone who votes Labour -- or UKIP, for that matter -- isn't right-wing. In fact, very few Brits/Europeans, even those who vote for parties that are conservative by European standards, are even close to being conservative by US standards, especially by Trump supporters' standards.
Hence the reason I have questioned you repeatedly as to why you (think you) are a Trump supporter. Makes absolutely no sense. But you just don't seem to get that.

I read your comments about British socialism and UHC and presumed you were attacking the UK System.
As for Trump, I am not a supported, although I don't support many politicians full stop, and have a deep distrust of politicians generally.
In terms of Trump, I can't say I really had much of an opinion on him before he ran for office, he was just some celebrity business man from NYC, and we have our own version of the Apprentice in the UK featuring Alan Sugar rather than Trump.
