I happened to run into this most fascinating interview with a Chinese exile had never heard of. Between printing money and using the Bank of China Hong Kong as a money laundering tool, you can't believe any numbers coming out of China. CCP runs everything. His closing comments: bad things are headed for you and you're too naive to understand.

There is some truth to this. Some. There are real metrics of wealth which cannot be inflated, for example, how much copper is being used, and those who monitor them for China say that the GDP numbers they report are impossible. The reason they do it is that they have to report a growing economy to their people for social stability. Hong Kong is nothing new--they spend more on internal "security forces" than they do an actual military.

The reason that US tolerates it is because it is in many ways good to have an enemy. China, being Communist and an economic powerhouse is kind of what the Soviet Union and Japan were in the 80's rolled in one.

You have to be careful, though, because, to some degree, this is true of any economy for one reason or another, and especially the United States. We exchange an intrinsically worthless fiat currency for very real Chinese goods and services, so when push comes to shove, who is really holding the cards? This is the real reason that Trump is 100% right--100%--that we need to bring manufacturing back to the US, and protect our innovations that the Chinese routinely steal. Anyone who claims that it can't or shouldn't be done is a simpleton. It has to be done.

Eveything China does since the 70s has been learned from the USA.

The Fed caused 93% of the entire stock market's move since 2008: Analysis Yahoo news source.

How much would Nike shoes cost if made in the USA. Double now? Triple now? Many Americans can't afford them at the current price.

Just go visit China.
40 Chinese cities have subways (clean and modern). All major cities are connected with high speed trains.

Ok, but their system has worked quite well up until now. Kind of like how we say our system is not perfect, but it works. I don't think the USA is in any position to criticize or call anyone elses economy fake. We are trying to pretend that we can have a successful and vibrant economy based on selling hamburgers, insurance, educating foreign students and wiping old people's behind in a nursing home or hospital, and the fed doing whatever necessary to keep it all going.

Manufacturing was America's bread and butter, and it's what people around the world both respected and feared about this country, after it allowed us to supply the allies to victory in WW2. After that, our golden age passed and our system lost much of it's beauty and luster, IMO. Most of it a result of greed, if you ask me.

If the USA want's to impress the world again, we have to do something drastic like cure cancer. Than we can justify our massively wasteful system that promotes wealth inequality and stops class mobility dead in it's tracks. The Chinese do seem to have a somewhat balanced system where wealth is spread more evenly, and they have a lower rate of homelessness and many of the social ills we are dealing with today.

As much as I hate communism, you can't knock it when the USA is basically resembling a decaying empire whose best days are behind it. I would love nothing more than to turn this thing around, but that would require a consorted effort by all Americans to roll up our sleeves and prepare to work together to accomplish great things. Judging by all the protests, counter protests, and other garbage (mostly fueled by politicians and propaganda outlets) it seems many would prefer a civil war. Kinda resembles Rome on the decline. In this day and age, it's difficult to criticize the commies when you yourself don't seem to have a better way to offer. And judging by how much of our economy is subsidized by the government, you certainly can't call our way the capitalist way.

How else would our money flow back into their economy? And the strength of their economy is a matter of both national security and pride. They will do whatever it takes to keep the music going, we know this and they know this.

The US is NO different, look at what happened in 2007-08, our economy SHOULD have crashed...but govt stepped in and bailed them out.

It was a temporary band aid though, our economy is a house of cards built on sand!

Right. Those who say china’s economy is all fake are the same trump loons who don’t believe in science, who don’t believe in economic stats unless their Orange dotard think they are real, and who have never left their run down little towns and cities or learned a foreign language. Come on folks. It’s obvious this Chinese idiot has an ax to grind with the Chinese government. Give me a break.
