Why did they wait?
Did Mueller put in his report, Assange Conspired with Russians? Did Mueller make stuff up about Assange, without all the evidence?
Now, they got Assange, to prove Mueller Wrong!

Is that what is going on?
Why didn't the DOJ grab Assange a long time ago? Would have blown their entire narrative they have pushed out to the Media?

Whatever it was, it was between Ecquador and the US, although Assange really was pushing it with his behaviour in the Embassy.

I am just glad he's out of the Embassy, although he has already cost the UK around £12 million.

After he's served his jail sestence for skipping bail, either the US or Sweden can have him, or he can go back to hs native Australia, or he can go on the run, as long as he leaves the UK then Iam happy.

The problem wasn't with the US initially it was with Sweden.

Assange was wanted on a European Extradition Warrant, which by law Britain has to adhere to, however the High Court decided that Farage need not stay in prison and could be granted bail.

Assange appealed his extradition but his appeal was rejected by the UK Surpreme Court and under European Law.

At the point Assange went in to hiding in the Ecquadorian Embassy, and Britain spent over £11 million over the years on policing in respect of the Embassy.

The Swedes then decided to withdraw their application but Assange still wouldn't come out, until last week when the Equadorians lets the police in to their Embassy.

In terms of Assange, the US have made an extradition request, however British Courts are now legally obliged to sentence Assange for breaking his bail conditions.

In terms of what happens next, that is realy up to the Courts to decide, and there may be competing extradition proceedings and the Court may have to decide which is the more serious offence in terms of extradition, so Assange could yet still go to Sweden, if Sweden decide to renew their European extradition warrant.

In terms of the US, they haven't always been succesful in terms of extraditing hackers from Britain with two notable cases involving Gary McKinnon and Lauri Love. Both suffered from Aspergers Syndrome and in terms of McKinnon his extradition to the US was blocked by the current PM Theresa May when she was Home Secretary back in 2012. In terms of Love who has dual citizenship of the UK and Finland, the High Court in London ruled that he could be tried in the UK rather than in the US, and it was not necessary to extradite him.

So nothing is certain as yet, and the extradition process may yet take a couple of years during which time Assange will serve his sentence for jumping bail and then be remanded in prison, in terms of remand time that is deducted from any future prison sentence either in the UK or if he is extradited to the US or Sweden and founf guilty of a crime.
