Which is likely one reason that Trump is hiding his tax returns.

What would that be...claim Putin as a dependent?

For some reason I think DJT is playing with the press and D's, letting them hang themselves by drawing this out.

Huge debt to foreign entities that are closely tied to their respective governments aren't illegal, it would be concerning for a sitting President to have them, however. Especially one who has divested himself, at all, from his personal business interests.

That's one just off the top of my head.....

there is no such limitation in the 1924 law. the ways and means committee are allowed to see anyone's tax returns.

Let me guess:

Two years of scrabbling around, trying to find something you can "get" President Trump for have flopped, producing nothing. So now it's time to go back to the old standard: Let's grab his tax returns again and investigate, investigate, investigate, and never let up until we finally find some crime somewhere.

As for talking to him about whether his plans to guide the country back to conservatism, personal responsibility, and charity, forget it. We can never "get" him on those since the country actually wants them. We have to smear and destroy him instead, it's the only way we can win.

The reason to release them has to do with the Truth. A foreign idea to Trump and apparently all those that follow him and his alternative facts, i.e., lies.

The editor of Bloomberg, Tim O'Brien was sued by Trump. During discovery, his attorneys obtained the tax returns.

He said it explains a great deal regarding Trump's financial ties to Asia, the Mideast and Russia. And would make the whole Russian ties thing clearer.

He also said that 5 or 6 years is not enough--most of the shady activity began in the mid-2000s--when Trump ran out of US money, and had already bankrupted 4 businesses.

Now we're supposed to trust him?? He's a crook who has been doing business with all kinds of global crooks for years. He overruled 25 security clearances for people who could not get one--for good reasons. No president has violated national security the way Trump has, and the US taxpayers, who pay for him and his family to cavort all over the world, have a right to know.

We have a right to know if he is vulnerable to blackmail by Saudi Arabia and Russia. We have a right to know if he has broken the law and evaded taxes. We have a right to know if he committed bank or insurance fraud.

This is the blowhard who brags every time he donates a dime to anything. But he does donate to anything in general, and never in private. Doesn't count if nobody knows.

Not required now.

Ex post facto is bad.

Simple solution: Get law passed for 2024 and beyond.
Along with ALL members of Congress, especially those who have become MULTI millionaires while in office.
