Good month for Cali...now up to 36th lowest unemployment in the USA....if they get down as low as Texas, I'll really be impressed.

California is a great state, with good jobs, lot of diversity and natural beauty...just can't afford to buy a house out here!

I agree, California has perfect weather. I didn’t even see snow until I was 20-something!

I do miss that a lot. Sigh. At least we are out of the worst of the snow probably now.

So I don't think that would make much difference.

You didn't read your own link.

The link doesn't assess 'level of taxation' either in dollars or percentage.

The link compares the total of each tax in dollars for the state compared to/expressed as a percentage of total personal income for the state....which isn't the same thing. Incomes in California are higher, so that is going to mitigate their percentage re what WalletHub is looking at, but it doesn't mean that Californians are paying less dollar wise than the states 'above them' on the WalletHub list, nor that the assessed percentages for income tax, sales tax, and property tax are less for the states listed 'above them' on the list.

Lots of job growth, yes, but "75% of ALL job growth?"

Best I could find was this that doesn't seem to back up this claim at all.

What am I missing?

According to your link, Florida surpassed California.

+25,200 - Florida
+14,600. - California

Even Texas did better than Cali @ 17,700.

It truly is. We left LA for Colorado several years ago and am thankful every day. We recently traveled to northern California as part of a larger road trip down the Oregon coast and was truly shocked (had forgotten) how terrible the homelessness and poverty was, as we simply don't see that sort of thing here in Colorado.
