We have already established that it isn't 'substandard' statistically I will live longer 'over here' for a start! Your quote about men with guns is (quite frankly) bizarre, can you actually answer my question now? ie tell me the advantages we would have without the NHS?

So to sum up my situation.

Positives of the NHS
1) I pay less
2) live longer
3) Have no extra burden due to the unfortunate circumstances my Mrs finds herself in
4) Have no worries about the amount of care she may need in the future
5) The choice of using the NHS or any private alternative I choose (at a cost less than the US)

Can somebody now tell me the advantages we would have without the NHS?

Skeddy perhaps you can do a better job answering my question?

In terms of taxes, we don't pay VAT on most food and UK is quite cheap in terms of grocery shopping.

Why the UK has such cheap food - BBC News

I have freedom thanks, more than you probably, however this doesn't actually answer my question does it, look again at the list I gave concerning the advantages of the NHS:-

That you will live longer is no proof of a superior system. Keep in mind I am not advocating for the crony insurance/state system that is place here.
We have already established that anyone who has an income in the UK will be robbed and forced to contribute into the NHS and as such will be subject to the choices, rules, mandates, etc. made by its committees and politicians. My response stands unless you can prove otherwise.

Can you opt out of paying over $700 Billion a year on defence or $75 Billion on prisons or the hundreds of billions spent on intelligence agencies and other Government apparatus.

The NHS costs a much smaller percentage of GDP than the US System, and the biggest single area of spending is usually related to pensions rather than healthcare.

How about this for proof:-

Again I am NOT subject to choices, in fact I can choose any healthcare system I like - do you have that choice? NO! You will need to try harder Frank, can you give me just ONE valid reason why I would be better off without the NHS, just ONE??
