As someone that knows a lot of black people, I can assure you most won't vote at all and the ones that do will vote democratic as they always do. The Democrats like to give more handouts and the black community thinks that is a good thing, even though it actually isn't.

What handouts are blacks asking for? You might know OF a lot of black people, but you obviously do not KNOW black people. Black people vote democrat because the right is seen as racist. My father was one of the most conservative people I knew....but would never vote republican because he KNEW that is where the racist were....and having grown up in a sharecroppers family....he knew where the racist were.
African American women who voted 4% for Trump are the larger voting block. I would be curious to see how they are polling now. The puerto rican effect never materialized in the 2018 elections in Florida, we will see what the natural disasters and the administrations response to them do in 2020. If we can erode that 35% support from hispanic males, we can flip that hairline advantage Trump has, but without Florida it gets really complicated for him. Unfortunately Hispanic males are too susceptible to the culture war marketing.
Its part and parcel with the general obsession that people have with black people.....it's for the juxtaposition to suggest that blacks are inferior and whites are superior. If people see themselves as superior.....that is a relative idea. Your superior relative to who? Hence, the general obsession with blacks is to show whites as superior by pointing out things about blacks. In this specific case of politics, Trump, the white guy, is said to have done more for blacks than Obama, the black guy. Ergo, Trump is pulling in the black vote because blacks are realizing that this president is better for them. Again, implicitly, the Republican side is the WHITE side. That is by far, the whitest of the two parties. White is right and blacks for Trump means that more blacks are recognizing whose right. In my opinion.
It's a nice little chunk of the vote, whoever can get it. Politicians are obsessed with it, so it stands to reason that those who are heavily into politics will be too.
Politicians are obsessed, but I get why some politicians might want the Black vote. What I'm seeing are people who aren't running for office, who obsess about who Blacks vote for to the point of complaining. Whenever there are threads here like:
These other threads where people who aren't running for office are obsessed with who Black people are voting for. Stuff like "why do Blacks vote Democrat" or "Blacks should vote GOP",etc. Those individuals behave as who Blacks vote for is their business, some of it bordering on resentment and complaining.

You just illustrated why alot of Blacks perceive the GOP as racist. When you make statements like "Blacks only want handouts", what you're basically saying is "Blacks are lazy". That is going to turn alot of Blacks away, unless that's what you want.
Plenty of poor blacks voted for Hillary. In fact, poor blacks voted overwhelmingly for Hillary. What’s your point?
Alot of middle class and upper class Blacks voted for Hilary too.
