Judging by the title of this thread and the various other threads created by CD members to talk ABOUT black people but not hear directly FROM black people, I'd argue that plenty of others care more about race than the person(s).

That Black pilot served this country, at a time when this country wouldn't love him back. He was fighting for the USA when there were still Black and White only restrooms. The military was still segregated. What has Rush Limbaugh done for this country, other than spout his rhetoric from the airwaves?

I think about it because there are alot of Black people who do believe Trump is a racist. Brigadier General Charles McGee not getting the Presidential Medal of Honor from Trump might confirm that. Rush Limbaugh getting it instead of Brigadier General Charles McGee will definitely do that. An honorary promotion, well, this is how I see it. Given what Brigadier General McGee did, when he did it, and considering he's done so much more than Rush Limbaugh has ever done for this country, he's owed more than an honorary promotion.
The award that Rush was given is specifically for civilians .
President Obama gave the same award to Robert DeNiro .
Can you name anything Robert DeNiro has done for veterans ?
I can tell you that Rush has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for veterans & their families, as well as
donating millions of his own money .
And veterans are just one of his pet causes for which he works very hard to help .
I'm sure Mr. McGee was given an award more in keeping with military service .
In fact unless I am mistaken I'm almost certain I heard Trump say that he had ordered that he be promoted
by another star ?
That would be an award that would have a significant financial benefit to it as well for him and his family .

In my opinion, President Trump is an opportunist and a crook. He loves attention and he seems to love trolling people. The diehards among his base eat it up.

This is an important question. Why does anyone care so much regarding who Blacks vote for?

It proved to be accurate in 2016 when Trump was elected despite what every " poll " said.
Most of your comments in this thread have been about "immigrants" and not African Americans. The one black person you mentioned, his comments don't imply he is a Trump supporter. I also was hoping that Trump would "deal" with the Chinese in 2016 if he won. He hasn't. But I am glad he hasn't Fd up the economy. The economy was good when he got in office. It being good right now is not going to make me vote for him.

Again, how many black people do you know? I am black. 95% of my family is black and 80% of my social network is black. I know black Republicans and black Democrats and black Socialists and black Libertarians. I know super religiously conservative black people and very liberal/crunchy type of "Jesus is Love" religious black people. I am an atheist and actually know quite a few atheist black people as well.

So your 1-3 black people you seemingly know well, don't seem to imply anything about Trump. IMO you are just hoping that black people will support him. Just like we aren't dumb enough to believe everything white liberals say, we also are not dumb enough to be influenced by all of you all's "black people are supporting Trump" desires.

I personally think they are hilarious and reflect more on you all than on African Americans.

On the bold, in 2016 Trump got 6-8% of the black vote. It was polled that he would. Most GOP candidates get 10% or less of the black vote. Trump got less black votes than GW Bush. I honestly personally liked GW Bush BTW - he was funny and gave me "stimulus checks" lol. So he was palatable in a way that Trump is not. Plus he was not an a$$-hole-ish buffoon like Trump is.

This was published yesterday:

Trump courts black voters, but opposition runs deep. However, I'm sure that most of you will continue to believe Trump and friends. From the link:

Quote:
President Donald Trump took African American guests to his State of the Union speech, ran a Super Bowl ad boasting how he’s making the criminal justice system more equitable for black people and portrayed himself as the champion of education and job opportunities for people of color.

The overtures mean nothing to black voters like Jovan Brown, who loathes Trump’s record on race and sees the Republican president’s African American-heavy guest list at the State of the Union as his penchant for using “black people as a prop.
Note I agree with the young black man here. I'll note, I live near Detroit and black Detroit voters not voting in 2016 are the primary reason why he won the state. Because of that being well known, I don't see Trump winning MI very easily in 2020 and I honestly don't think he'll win MI at all.

Also from the link, which goes back to the reason this thread is around:"
Quote:
Critics have long suggested that the real audience for Trump’s appeals to African Americans are white suburban women who may feel more comfortable voting for Trump if they see evidence that he’s not really as racist as he has at times come across.
Quote:
Trump’s public denouncement of former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and other professional athletes who knelt during the national anthem in protest of police violence against African Americans did little to endear him to black voters. Neither did Trump’s professions that there was “blame on both sides” following a 2017 clash between white nationalist demonstrators and counterprotesters in Charlottesville, Virginia.
On Detroit:

Quote:
The stakes are especially high in Detroit. The city is 80% African American and in a traditionally blue state, Michigan, that Trump won in 2016 by 10,704 votes. Trump won Wisconsin by fewer than 23,000 votes and Pennsylvania by about 44,000 votes, two other states that typically vote Democrat in national elections and where black turnout will be key.

Ninety-six percent of the city’s registered voters cast ballots for Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016, but turnout was down in Detroit. It fell to 48% from 53% eight years earlier when Barack Obama won the presidency.

“People vote when they’re passionate,” said City Clerk Janice Winfrey. “People were passionate for Obama. And — maybe not for the same reason — they’re passionate about Trump. And people are pretty mad.”
See blue especially. I have a lot of family members who live in Detroit or in the metro area. Some of them didn't vote in 2016 and they plan on voting for whatever Democrat wins nomination in 2020. I also know a lot of black Democrats in this area where their major goal at defeating Trump is getting more voters registered and pushing turnout. If black voters show up in MI and WI and PA, Trump won't win either of those states. I honestly also feel it will be much closer in Ohio in 2020. I live in Ohio. There is a huge out reach going on right now in my own area near Toledo for black voters. Bloomberg has set up a campaign office here already (as noted above though, not really "for" Bloomberg). I don't remember ever seeing a Hillary campaign office here, especially not prominently in the downtown area. A lot of my white Democratic friends are excited about Bloomberg.

1st off, the AP is a liberal mainstream news media source.

2nd, your linked article even admitted that Trump only got 6% of the Black vote in 2016, but the recent polling shows a 10% approval rating for Trump today. If the 10% who approve wind up voting for Trump, he'll go from 6% to 10%, and that is a huge percentage increase...almost doubling.

That increase could determine the 2020 election, if they fall in the right States.
