It all boils down to this. Like you said, many people want to talk ABOUT Black people, but they don't want to hear what Black people actually have to say. In hearing what we have to say, said persons might not want to hear it.

Only a nut would think you're all the same politically, but there's no dispute that in prez elections you're vote is near 90% Democrat. 88% for Hillary in 2016. Elections are always analyzed by demographics of race, income, religion, gender, education, etc.. Among large groupings, 88%-90+% is striking. I think that's one reason for the interest in 'the black vote.'
Even within the D party, consider the media coverage of Biden, Super Tuesday, and how desperately he needed the back vote to remain viable. Sometimes, but rarely, do you see the same cruciality [I made up a word] re other demographics. The many repetitive threads about the back vote shouldn't come as a surprise on a politics forum.
