And if PP does such a bang up, stellar job "caring" for these women, why do so many need abortions?

I think they have proved what a colossal failure they are at providing BC and BC education.
So you want to close clinics owned by one company and hope that individuals find health care elsewhere simply because you don't like them. Unwanted pregnancies are down but you want to close clinics that provide family planning because you feel in your mind they are ineffective, doesn't sound very rational.

Maybe you can point to the part of this bill that provides a study for alternatives if they close 27 clinics.

It is not a matter of "easily accessible". Many will do whatever necessary to get it done. If PP went away completely, others would pick up the demand.

We can agree to disagree. My opinion is to focus on preventing unwanted pregnancies in the first place in order to minimize the demand for abortions. Other countries have been very successful at this.

Abortion rates:

- Switzerland is 7
- Austria 1.3
- Germany 6
- Holland 10
- Belgium 9
- Unites States 20
- Russia 37

How about we look at what other counties are doing, and learn from them?

Yes, you guessed it, contraceptives in Russia are not commonly used, while in the other Western countries they are easily available, and commonly used.

When drugs hit the market, actually before they hit the market usually after phase 2 trials, they are given names. This one doesn't have a name. It has a funny string of letters and numbers that supports killing.

And killing is exactly what the drug does.

Wink wink. rYOU486?!?!?! Gosh, so FUNNY!!!!

Anyone can go into a store and buy condoms.

People don't. There is an incredible lack of responsibility in women when it comes to BC.

I'll get flamed until the cows come home for that statement. But its the truth. Women get pregnant. Why?

Lack of USE of BC. Not lack of BC.

If that was sufficient, we would not be having this discussion.

If you go to Europe, you'll notice many, if not most, restaurants have condom vending machines in the bathrooms. If you meet someone in the bar, and you think something might happen, you dont have to excuse yourself to visit a "publicly funded health department clinic" to pick up condoms, you just go to the restroom.

Actually, it does have a name. Roussel-Uclaf released it as mifepristone. Its trade names are Mifegyne and Mifeprex.

Again. If you looked at other countries who have solved this problem and learned from them, and you wouldn't have to sit there and find someone to blame.

Throw a rock and hit a store that sells condoms. They are in all convenience stores, grocery stores, Walmart, Target, Duane Reade, Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens ... the list is endless.

OR how;s about you just have them on hand? Throw one in the wallet or purse. Keep in the bedstand.

Seriously not difficult.

It's lack of USE that's the problem.
