I don't disagree with most of your assessment. I really don't think Obama was a true narcissist, but I guess that is subjective. He, like all politicians was a big spender (not as big as Trump), and he did very little to get us out of wars. For me, that's where the similarities end.

Like Obama or not, that is an individual choice, but I felt he was at least stable, and did things with good-intent, and at least he thought things through. I guess "good" is subjective too, I'll grant that. My concern with Trump is not his intent. Let's assume he means well, he still does stuff off the cuff, and either without understanding, or without care (again, I'm not sure which it is, really doesn't matter) of the ramifications.

In all seriousness:
Obama: Like him or not, he was stable, and likely would not have taken us into any worse territory than we were already in.
Trump: Totally unpredictable, doesn't really seem to understand the job, and (IMO) a real threat to the status quo.

I agree that the status quo needs to change. And I agree with Trump on that, as that is what he ran on. My problem with him is simply that he has not shown that he is capable of changing the status quo for the good. Not all change is good, and he has not instilled confidence that he can improve things. Just changing stuff for the sake of change can be very bad.

For me, the risk factor is just too great with Trump. I'd take 20+ more years of disfunction versus the damage that I PERCEIVE he is doing to our country, and to the world.

Sorry but your statement, once again, requires a fact check. The government budget is not solely created and approved by the House of Representatives as you imply.

How Does the Federal Government Create a Budget?

There are five key steps in the federal budget process:

1. The President submits a budget request to Congress
2. The House and Senate pass budget resolutions
3. House and Senate Appropriations subcommittees "markup" appropriations bills
4. The House and Senate vote on appropriations bills and reconcile differences
5. The President signs each appropriations bill and the budget becomes law

Ummmm...

Those numbers are from the first two years of his term, before Democrats took over the House.

And Democrats are not “back in control” of the budget, as Republicans still control the Senate.

Why do you continue to make excuses?

Why does anyone need to justify it. Is an increase in spending by every administration some great revelation?

Percent increase in government spending each new administration:
.....Kennedy 8%
Johnson 13%
Nixon 34%
Ford 47%
Reagan 186%
HW Bush 54%
Clinton 32%
GW Bush 101%
Obama 74%
Trump 30% projected thru 2020

Because the GOP is supposed to be the party of small government, yet they are even bigger spenders than the Democrats. At least Democrats make no bones about their desire to grow government and create a welfare state; Republicans talk a good game but in reality are just as bad.

And MAGAs are the worst of both worlds.

Obama left so much to fix it was bound to cost a ton of money to straighten it out.

While that stipulates "new" you may want to check the actual numbers here:

Again the right doesn’t care that their kids, grandchildren will be paying for it, same goes for the left too yet Trump keeps our debt climbing at a rate that’s faster then usual.
