Should have told her eggs, bunnies, pastel colors and anything that detracts for the blood and resurrection of Christ constitutes idolatry...
I'm actually only half kidding. I've known people who stripped down Halloween and made efforts to keep Christmas and Easter more religious. I actually respected them for focusing on their religious perspectives as opposed to others who try claim to be entirely religious while prioritizing the most commercial/secular aspects of those holidays.
I know what you mean...some local churches offer "Harvest Festivals" for kids as a replacement to Halloween Trick or Treat.
My oldest DD and her DH are atheist/agnostic AND health nuts (when it comes to the kids anyway), but still decorate eggs and have egg hunts and "Easter Bunny" visit for their kids. My grandsons get toys for Easter instead of baskets of candy. This makes me a bit sad...we always took our kids on fun mini vacations over Easter weekend, and the Easter Bunny delivered their baskets of candy to our motel room Easter morning, where they were allowed to feast before breakfast. Only rule was...eat what you want, but don't get sick (and brush your teeth thoroughly). Nobody threw up or got overly hyper (or cavities).
I'd LOVE to buy my grandsons giant baskets of candy with chocolate bunnies and ducks, and watch them stuff themselves. Maybe one day DD will relax the rules. I buy my Easter candy from a local candy store where it is made on premises..at Easter he makes all kinds of shapes, even chocolate in religious molds like crosses and Bibles. His baskets of "chocolate Lego's" are also very popular at Easter. Are chocolate Lego's racist?

Next we will hear Easter is cancelled because it’s a racist holiday
